Janis M. Briggs

Janis M. Briggs age 76 of Lynn Center died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis.
According to Janis's wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2004 at Swedona Lutheran Church. Private burial service will be held at Western Township Cemetery, Orion. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Pathway Hospice or the Swedona Lutheran Church. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Janis M. Bloomberg was born November 10, 1927 in Moline, IL. the daughter of Clarence A.C. Bloomberg and Jeanette Wongstrom Bloomberg. She married Curtis L. Briggs on April 6, 1947 in Swedona. He preceeded her in death on July 27, 1988.
Janis retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1998. She previously worked at the Henry County ASCS office in Cambridge, IL.
Janis was a charter member of the Ophiem Legion Auxiliary and a member of Swedona Lutheran Church.
