Jay C. Schiebel, 66, of Moline, died Friday, February 24, 2012 at Trinity, Moline, IL.
Jay was born on May 7, 1945 in Moline, IL the son of Vern C. and Elaine (Roberts) Schiebel. He married Claire Ketner on July 17, 1971 in Moline, IL. He was owner and operator of the LeClaire Garage in Moline, for 25 years. He was a member of the Illinois Towing Association where he was a former director, the Mississippi Valley Wood Carver's Association and he was involved in the International Woodcarvers Congress as a volunteer for many years. Jay was an avid reader and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two step-brothers and his beloved mother-in-law, Margaret Fender.
Per his request cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with arrangements.
