Jeanne A. Hawry, age 80 of Rock Island, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at: Northwestern University, Alice S. Millar Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Rd, Evanston, IL, 60201. A reception will follow the service. Memorials may be made to A.L.S. Association, Development Department, 27001 Agoura Rd. Jeanne was born January 22, 1928 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Grace Ann (Wilson) Watson. She married Henry Joseph Hawry on October 7, 1948 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2001.
Jeanne was employed as a registered nurse for 48 years, retiring in 1996. She had been a resident of Friendship Manor in Rock Island. Jeanne enjoyed traveling, and had a wide range of interests and tastes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
