Jeannette H. Kelsey

Jeannette H. Kelsey of East Moline died Saturday, September 18, 2004 .
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-8:00 at the funeral home. Burial is at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Gilda's Club or Pathway Hospice.
Jeannette H. Kelsey was born April 3, 1925, in Davenport, the daughter of Margaret Jaeschke Betcher and Robert Betcher.
She graduated from Orion High School in 1942 and furthered her education at Black Hawk College.
She married Donald F. Kelsey March 25, 1950 at St. Anne's Church in Long Grove, IA. He died in 1970.
Jeannette was first employed at Alcoa when it was under construction. She later spent 38 ? years at International Harvester in East Moline. She retired in 1986.
Jeannette was active in various organizations through the years. She was a member of the UAW 1356 Retirees.
After retirement, she volunteered at the Family Museum in Bettendorf, served as a mentor to a teenager for three years, was an ambassador with the Quad-City Visitor's Bureau, and a volunteer at Quad City Arts.
Through the years, Jeannette gave of herself to help others when she saw a need. She had an outgoing personality and was a fun-loving person. She especially loved to play games of all sorts.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Kelsey of Richmond, VA, a son and daughter-in-law. Patrick and LuAnne Kelsey, Montgomery, IL, two grandchildren, Brandon and Megan Kelsey, and a special friend, Dorothy Light, Rapid City, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Irene Von Fange and two brothers, Wilbur and Keith.
