Jeffrey Bruce Hamarstrom, 66, of Burlington, IA, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, IA.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Jeff wishes for memorials to be made to his family for a fund to be established in his name.
Jeff was born on October 3, 1946, in Moline, IL, the son of J. Leland and Evelyn (Beale) Hamarstrom. He married Shirley Hamann on April 8, 1967, in Orion, IL. He worked as the Director of School Psychology for AEA in Southeast Iowa, retiring in 2008. Jeff was formerly a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying, hiking and geocaching. Jeff loved all Iowa Hawkeye sports, especially wrestling.
