Jennie M. Tertipes, age 82, of Milan, formerly of Ridgewood Towers, East Moline, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 4900 Kennedy Drive, East Moline. Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline with a Trisagion service at 6:30 p.m. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church
Jennie was born October 11, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Peter and Bessie (Adams) Hanos. She married George N. Tertipes on November 23, 1957 in Oak Park, IL. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1990.
Jennie was employed as a biller for General Outer Advertising in Chicago for 7 years. Later she worked for New York Notion in Melrose Park, IL for 8 years, retiring in 1990. Jennie was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, and a former member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Rock Island. She belonged to the social club of Ridgewood Towers where she resided for 21 years. Jennie enjoyed cooking, baking and reading.
