Jennifer Leader

Jennifer Leader, 49, of Walcott, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020, at Scott County Park Whispering Pines Shelter, Eldridge, IA.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.

Jennifer was born on March 7, 1971, in Moline, IL. Jennifer was a lifelong member of Union Congregational, UCC, Moline, IL. She enjoyed hiking, fishing and camping with her family. Jennifer's greatest joy in life was spending time with her father, children and grandchildren. She took her duty as the matriarch of the family seriously, even after her daughters were grown and married, insisting (yes, insisting) on a myriad of family traditions and regular gatherings.  Jennifer loved unconditionally, which made her a natural surrogate mother/grandmother/auntie to many. Her witty (and sometimes crass) sense of humor, strong-willed nature and comforting embrace will be missed by the many lives she touched.

Jennifer is survived by: her father, Wayne Leader, mother, brothers; Robert (Shari) Leader & Jason Leader, daughters; Monica (Cody) Austin, Haley (Lucas) Matzen and Emily (Kyle) Turnbough, son; Maxwell Molina & grandchildren; Adam, Cora, Lucy, Roy, Daniel and Oliver.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy Jean Pyles.
