Jerald David Smith Jr

Jerald David Smith, Sr., 78, of Moline, died February 26, 2008, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Jerald was born March 14, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA to Perry and Olva (Haney) Smith. He married Wanda Swanson on February 16, 1951 in Moline.
Jerald worked for 34 years at San Diego G & E retiring in 1987 as a turn on meter reader. Jerald was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a San Diego Chargers and Padres fan. He was an avid book reader and loved to work crossword puzzles. He was known for making friends wherever he went.
