Jerry J. Hugaert, 69, of Milan, died April 17, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to Rock Island Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
Jerry was born on December 27, 1939 in Moline, to Maurice F. and Juanita Cannell Hugaert. He married Karen I. Reschke on May 21, 1960 in Cambridge. They divorced on April 22, 1964. He then married Linda K. Findley on February 27, 1965 in East Moline. They divorced on July 30, 1976.
Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Moline High School. He also attended Black Hawk College from 1978 to 1980. He was a sixth grade basketball coach for Lincoln Elementary School from 1979 - 1980. Jerry was employed by the former Allison-Albrecht Plumbing & Heating Co. in Moline from which he retired on February 2, 1977 due to illness. Some of the projects Jerry worked include the John Deere Foundry, Silvis; Franciscan Medical Center, Rock Island; 3-M Company, Cordova; Quad Cities Nuclear Generating Station, Cordova. Jerry was a former member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local # 25 having been a member since September 21, 1963. He was a member of Rock Island Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation. Jerry enjoyed reading, writing, history, family genealogy, and the bible.
