Jerry L. Hunter

July 13, 1943 — August 1, 2008

Jerry L. Hunter, 65, of Orion, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, after fighting a courageous battle with heart disease for nine years.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Orion United Methodist Church.
Jerry was born July 13, 1943 in Quincy, IL, the son of Everett and Mary (Miller) Hunter. He was a 1961graduate of Rock Island High School and enjoyed going to the different Rocky sporting events. He graduated from ITT Technical College in 1964 with an Associates Degree. He married Paula Crisel in 1966.
Jerry had previously worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and at International Harvester. He was formerly employed at the Q. C. International Airport before his battle began with heart disease.
Jerry was an avid sports fan who loved the Fighting Illini and the LA Dodgers. He enjoyed cars, horseracing, reading books on history and going to the river with his grandkids. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and going to all of their sporting events.
