Jerry L. Jackson, 79, of East Moline, passed away, Wednesday, June 02, 2021, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 2-5pm Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the family.
Jerry was born on July 23, 1941, in Moline, the son of James and Stella (Lorick) Jackson. He married Diane Noftsker on June 13, 1959, in Iowa. He began his first business, Jackson Disposal Service, where he operated for 30 years to build and raise his family. In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed drag boat racing, and later taking his children to dirt bike races for many years. That is what inspired him to open Jackson Performance Center. He loved being with his customers and sharing stories with them and hours would pass with all the memories made. He enjoyed boating with family and friends as well as remote control boats. Jerry adored and protected Diane, the love of his life, and together they traveled on many adventures on the Mississippi where they were able to make many memories together. He was not only a father to his sons, but also their mentor and best friend. Jerry was the most patient and kind man you could ever meet. Jerry was well known for his sense of humor. He was a legend to his family, friends, and customers and inspired and touched many lives. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; sister-in-law, Sherry Krutcher; brother-in-law, Allen (Judy) Noftsker; children, Jim Jackson, Rick Jackson; grandchildren, Eric Jackson, Kayla (Austin) Jackson, Alex Jackson, Cora (Austin) Jackson.
