Jerry Dean Schutz, 74, of Golden, MO, formerly of Geneseo, IL, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, MO.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates.
Jerry was born on October 1, 1938, in Roodhouse, IL, the son of Joseph Orville and Mildred Lucille (Powers) Schutz. He married Sharon Lee Bey on October 3, 1959.
Jerry graduated from United Township High School in 1956. He was a Captain on the East Moline Fire Department and retired after 27 years in 1988. He was also a carpenter and built homes for Paul Johnson. Jerry drove semi truck for Standard Forwarding and Toblar Trucking. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry later retired to Golden Missouri to live on Table Rock Lake.
