Jill M Anderson

Jill M. Anderson, 73, of Moline, died Monday, August 1, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded.  Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church,1724 – 15th Street, Moline, IL, Memorial visitation will be held  Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL.   Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, where she was a member.

Jill was born May 17, 1943, in Moline, the daughter of Harvey and Velma Ashley Higgins.  She graduated in 1961 from Moline High School and attended Western Illinois University.  She married John Anderson on October 17, 1964 at Salem Lutheran Church.  Jill had previously worked for John Deere Intercontinental Engineering Research.

Jill was an inspiration to many and proud to be a longtime Diabetes Type 1 survivor, having been diagnosed in 1950 at the age of 7.  She donated her DNA to Joslin Research Hospital in Boston for future diabetes studies.  She enjoyed playing Bunko with her group of friends.  She also liked listening to music and making greeting cards.
