Jim McCall

James “Jim” Eugene McCall II, 63, of Moline, passed away Wednesday July 19, 2023, at home.

A celebration of life gathering will begin at 3 pm. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at DeeDee’s House.

Jim was born on February 5, 1960, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of David E. McCall Sr. and Dolores Lorraine (Petterson) McCall. He attended Rock Island High School and worked as a cook and a car mechanic for many years. He married Marlyne Fay Ohm on October 2, 1981. This union was blessed with one son, James Eugene McCall III.

Jim is survived by his sister, Laurie Partlow of Teneha, Texas, his brother, David (Joyce) of Orion, and his sister, Dolores McCall of Moline, who cared for him in her home for past couple of years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and sitting by the campfire. Jim also liked to play pool and tinkering on different projects. Jim had a great sense of humor and kept people laughing until the end.

Also left to mourn his loss are his son, James (Beth) McCall III; grandchildren, James Eugene IV, Zachary, Lucas and Emily; close friend, Shawn Carr; former daughter-in-law, Samantha; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law, Ricky and Kenny.
