Joan N. Johnson, 91, of Moline, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021, at Orchard Path Senior Living, Apple Valley, MN.

Public visitation will be held on Monday, April 5th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 6th.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the Joan N. Johnson Memorial Fund.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Joan was born in Davenport, Iowa to R. Ray and Ivene (Meyers) Singleton. She married Howard Donald (Don) Johnson on April 25, 1953. They were a devoted couple, enjoying a rich and wonderful 67 years of marriage.

Prior to her marriage Joan was employed by Deere & Company as a secretary. She left the organization to raise her family, rejoining Deere once her children were grown, and retiring in 1991. After retirement Joan and Don enjoyed many years traveling, spending winters in Florida, and visiting their grandchildren.

Joan was a former member of First Evangelical Free Church of Moline, serving for more than 70 years in many capacities including teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and women's trios, serving as a Deaconess, and utilizing her gifts in White Cross. Joan had the gift of hospitality and she and Don enjoyed hosting many church friends, missionaries, conference speakers, and neighbors. She blessed many with her wonderful meals, and the warmth and beauty of her home.

Joan and Don spent daily time together reading and discussing the Bible, as well as praying over their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were touched by her gentle and kind spirit.

Survivors include children: Deborah (Christopher) Coxe, Rosemount, MN, Colleen Patrin, Lakeville, MN, Todd (Sharon) Johnson, East Moline; grandchildren: Brooke Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Caleb (Rose) Patrin, Seth (Courtney) Patrin, Mikayla Coxe; great grandchildren: Eden and Sawyer Patrin, and Kacey Patrin.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, and siblings: R. Ray Singleton and Betty Frye.

Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
