Joan Thornburg, 80, of Moline, died January 28, 2009 at Forest Hill Health and Rehab Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 with a visitation one hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to her family.
Joan was born January 21, 1929 in Scott Co., Virginia to Theodore and Blanche (Feagins) Hensley. She married Lelbert Lee "Junior" Thornburg, Jr. on October 7, 1950 in Jonesborough, TN. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2009.
For many many years Joan provided child care in her home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and the children she took care of in her home. She enjoyed cooking and made the best chocolate chip cookies.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Forest Hill Health and Rehab Center and the nurses at Genesis Hospice.
