Amos "Joe" Spahnie, 33, of Viola, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Swedona Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 5-7p.m. Monday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301-4 St., Orion. Burial will be in Swedona Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Swedona Lutheran Church, the Q.C. Dialysis Patients Support Fund or to the family.
Joe was born February 16, 1977 in Silvis, the son of Carol (Zurcher) and Amos M. Spahnie.
Joe was a poster child with Easter Seals and started his education at Warren Achievement in Monmouth. He continued his education with Blackhawk Special Education in East Moline, where he graduated. Joe was a member of Swedona Lutheran Church, where he was an honorary member with the church choir. He was formerly active in the New Kingdom Trailriders. He also enjoyed listening to music, which was a big part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law Shelly.

Joe's family will also remember the dialysis patients and their families who have become a part of his family. Special thank you to Joe's church family who were always an important part of his life, the family appreciates all the love and time you have spent with him.
