Joel C. Bowman, 48, of Orion, IL, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Hope United Church of Christ, 3324, 41st Street, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from one hour prior to the service at the church. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for his children. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joel was born on June 4, 1967, in Moline, IL, the son of Harmon C. and Joanne Seitz Bowman. He loved cooking and worked as a chef.
Joel was a 5 time All American Cross Country and Track star at North Central College. He played for an adult soccer league. Joel was an animal lover and more than anything, a dedicated father who loved his children very much.
Survivors include his loving parents; daughter, Dinah Bowman, CO; son, Henry Bowman, CO; siblings, Deborah (Bruce) Simmons, Morton, IL, Jeff (Lynn) Bowman, FL, and Dori Newton, Bettendorf, IA; 3 nieces; 3 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
