John L. "J.Q." Adams, 64 of Moline died December 13, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2004 with a masonic service at 4 p.m. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post # 246.
John was born May 1, 1940 in Moline to Edward E. and Evelyn Welander Adams. He married Janice Gustafson on September 2, 1962. He later married Beverly Wilson Weimer on August 20, 1982.
John belonged to the Painters Union 502 of Rock Island and P.C. Schooley of Davenport. He was a painter for over 45 years at McLaughlin Body retiring in July of 2002.
John was a U.S. Army veteran serving from January of 1959 to March of 1962. He was a past master of 1014 AF & AM. He was a member of American Legion Moline Post #246, Friends Circle and Scottish Rite and Coordinate Bodies Valley of Moline. He was president of East End Social Club for over 17 years, past president, vice president and trustee of Svithoid Club. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Moline. He was an avid Cubs fan. John loved his family and friends. Those who knew John had a friend for life.
