John Edward Armel, 89, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, May 01, 2012 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alternatives for Older Adults.
John was born on March 1, 1923 in Bushnell, IL the son of Leroy and Mary (Strong) Armel. He married Elizabeth Mae Mockmore on June 27, 1977 in Freeport, IL. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2011. John worked for Herman - Nelson, which later became American Air Filter, for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed walking at the mall and eating at Bishops.

He was preceded in death by his wife, stepson, James R. Spiegel, and a great grandson, Andrew Mills.
