John D. Hausman, age 70 of Moline,died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife at his side.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial is at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Milan and Pathway Hospice.
John was born on January 25, 1934 in Mishawaka, IN, the son of Ernest and Ruth I. Broadhurst Hausman. He married Janet M. Steenbergh on March 30, 1963 in Buchanan, MI.
John was employed by the Department of Defense for 29 years, as an engineer, retiring from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1993.
John served in various capacities with First Presbyterian Church in Milan. He was a past elder, assistant treasurer and a member of the choir. He coached Dad's Club softball, took part in the Indian Princesses with his 3 daughters. He was an avid runner, including taking part in the Bix 7 for numerous years. He was a charter member of the Moline High School Booster Club, and a basketball season ticket holder for 20 years. He was a member of the Quad-City Banjoliers, and a die hard Chicago Cubs and Tennessee Titans fan.
