John P. Lira, age 78, of Moline, died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
John was born July 14, 1926 in Numa, IA. the son of John and Geneva Botton Lira. He married Mary Lou Ristau on July 5, 1958 in Moline.
John was employed as a stone mason for Langman Construction Company, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Bricklayers Union # 6, the VFW, the American Legion Post # 726 Numa, IA and the Moline Elks.
