John Henry Peters, Jr., 75 of Rock Island, IL, died Friday, May 04, 2012 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is Thursday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the New Kingdom Trail Riders. Cremation rites will follow the services.
John was born October 4, 1936 in Davenport, IA, the son of John "Jack" and Daisy Wilsey Peters. He married Rose M. Neff on July 15, 1959 in Davenport.
John was employed as a machine operator with Caterpillar Tractor retiring after 30 years. He was later employed with Gardner Engineering retiring on March 2, 2012. He was a 6 year veteran of the Air Force. John had played country music with many bands in the Quad Cities since 1960. He was one of the best steel guitar players in the area. He will be missed by many.
