John Leonard Sieghartner

John Leonard Sieghartner, 76, of Coal Valley, passed away, June 26, 2024, at Royal Oaks Care Center, Kewanee.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to memorial services on Saturday, at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow services at the First Baptist Church, Colona. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials and/or book donations may be made to the Western District Library in Orion for train books, The First Baptist Church in Orion, and the First Baptist Church in Colona’s Memorial Garden.

John was born on July 7, 1947, in Moline, IL, the son of Evelyn (Ege) and Leonard Sieghartner. John was known for his love of trains; he loved railroad memorabilia and train history. He also loved fishing, crafts, and woodworking.

Survivors include his brother Robert (Lisa Hanson) Sieghartner; niece Sonya Sieghartner; nephew Bryan; and family by heart, Kim Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Steven Sieghartner; sister-in-law Jonie Sieghartner; and best friend for over 30 years, Billy Reynolds.
