Josephine M. Hansen, 94, of Rock Island, died on August 6, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded.  Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal.  Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38 Avenue, Moline.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the UnityPoint Trinity Health Foundation.

Josephine was born on June 19, 1922 in Rock Island the daughter of Peter and Anna Patronagio Salerno.  She married George A. Latham, they later divorced.  She then married Warren T. Hansen and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2004.

Josephine lived in Inverness Florida and enjoyed long walks on the beach and collecting shells.  In 2004 she moved back to the Quad Cities and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters:

Joni (Michael) Griffin            Moline

Grandsons       Evan (Hilary) Nelson              Moline

Conrad Nelson                        Moline

Sister               Frances Doerr                         Rock Island

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren and her brother, Joseph Salerno.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of the Fort Armstrong Assisted Living, the Hospitalists and Nursing Staff of 4 North at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island and especially to Dr. Steve Arvanitis for their roles in caring for Josephine.
