Joyce E. Seitzinger, 70 of Moline died February 28,2005 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m Wednesday, March 2, 2005 with a visitation one hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to University of Illinois Seitzinger Endowment Scholarship Fund, Quad City Animal Welfare Center or a favorite charity.
Joyce was born September 21, 1934 in Atkinson, IL to Edward and Madeline Hoghren Clark. She graduated from Cambridge High School and became a secretary for University of Illinois Extention Service. She married Vance Seitzinger on May 29, 1955 in Cambridge, IL.
Joyce started as secretary in the steno pool at Deere & Company. All girls in the steno pool had to go to the dining room at 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and help serve lunch. She retired from Deere as an executive secretary in June of 1992 after 35 years.
Joyce was a member for 49 years at Southpark Presbyterian Church, Rock Island where she tutored 6 year old readers. She enjoyed painting with oil on canvas when her health permitted. She enjoyed her flower garden, baking, traveling, reading, playing the piano and volunteering. She volunteered at Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Bank. She was involved with Left Bank Art League and was a lifetime member of Univerity of Illinois Alumni.
Joyce loved God, her family and her country. Those who knew her, knew the kind of life she lived.
