Judith was born October 25, 1946 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Howard and Orieda (Horn) Anderson. She was united in marriage on October 16, 1971, in Davenport, IA, to Richard E. Franing. They had two children together: Sara and David.
Judith graduated from Northern Iowa University with a bachelor's in education. She taught in 1st and 3rd grade at Fillmore Elementary in Davenport for 10 years and Human Growth and Development in the Moline School District for 21 years. She was an active member for many years of DAR and Home Extension. She enjoyed children, cooking, traveling, and doing things with her hands. Judith was a caregiver for many people, young and old - a beautiful person inside and out. She will be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and aunt with a kind heart and devotion to her family, church, friends, and community.
Judith was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Moline, where she enjoyed worship, serving as a Deacon and teaching vacation bible school, growing in her faith and understanding of God's word. Here she found the fellowship of believers and encouragement to reach out to others with God's love.
Judith's unexpected diagnosis of pancreatic cancer on October 15 took her to Trinity Medical Center, where she underwent an aggressive form of treatment to extend the remainder of her days here on Earth. She was surrounded by family and friends, gracefully leaving her weary body behind to be welcomed by Jesus into her eternal home in Heaven. For all eternity, she will live with Jesus, and one day we all look forward to joining her and all believers who have gone before us. This has always been her greatest consolation.
