Juliana M. Smith, 79, of Moline, passed away on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded, there will be no visitation and private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Juliana was born on January 18th, 1933 in Warsaw, Illinois, the daughter of John and Goldie Mekeel Burger. She married Doug Smith on April 5th, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona.
Juliana had a passion for reading, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and will live on in our hearts forever.

Great grandsons Bailey Basala, Brody Basala and Vincent Favela
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Trinity Pathway Hospice and St. Anthony's Nursing & Rehab Center. And a very special thank you to Amanda, Barb, Lisa and Cindy for their care and support. We are forever grateful.
