Kathy Ann Acree, 67, of Moline, passed away March 1, 2025, at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. A visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Kathy was born on August 11, 1957, in St. Jacob, Illinois, the daughter of Delmar and Loretta (Hackethal) Krotz. She married Nathan Acree Jr. in 1982, in Germany. She later married Bruce Showalter in 2002, in Davenport. Kathy had been employed as the Director of Logistics under Army Sustainment Command at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2012, after 34 years of service. As a part of her service, she deployed as a civilian to both Iraq and Afghanistan to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Kathy was an extremely active person who enjoyed traveling around the world, learning about different languages and cultures as well as being fluent in German. She also participated in multiple long distance running events such as The Bix 7 Road Race and Run with Carl. She was also active in many local charities including dress for success where she volunteered her time to critique resumes to help women get started in their careers. Above all, Kathy loved being with her family and helping anyone who was in need.
Survivors include her sons, Nicholas (Kara) Acree and Austin Acree; grandchildren, Kiera, Saylor, Benjamin and William; mother, Loretta; siblings, Delmar Krotz jr (Marilyn), Mike (Rhonda) Krotz, James (Lisa) Krotz, Steve (Laurie) Krotz; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delmar, sisters, Marlene and Connie; and brother, Bill Krotz.
