Kenneth E. Becker, 86, of Sun City West, AZ, died Friday, October 31, 2014, at Golden Autumn Adult Care Home, Surprise, AZ.
Per his wishes there will be no local services and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ken was born on March 27, 1928, in Moline, IL, the son of Wilbert E. and Ruby Erickson Becker. He graduated from Moline High School, attended Augustana College, and proudly served the United States Navy Submarine Service aboard U2513 (a captured German U-Boat.) He married Elaine O. Bietz on September 25, 1971, in Tempe, AZ, and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2009.
Ken worked in sales for Prudential & Hertz for 19 years, retiring in 1985. Ken also owned and operated Arcadia Lawn Service in Tempe, AZ. He was a past member of Phoenix Police Reserve and Sun City West Sheriff's Posse. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Sun City. Ken enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a big University of Iowa and Chicago Bears football fan.
