Kenneth L. Fredell, age 91, formerly of Orion, died Friday, February, 22, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301- 4th Street, Orion. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to Heartland Health Care Alzheimer Unit, Moline.
Ken was born July 16, 1916 in Orion, the son of Carl Benjamin and Mae Emerenzia (Johnson) Fredell. He married Vivian Larson on June 30, 1939 in Lynn Township, IL. She preceded him in death on March 18, 1970. He then married Gunhild Swanson Bloomberg on January 2, 1971in Orion. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2002.
Ken was employed as a rural mail carried for the Orion Post Office for 26 years, retiring in 1978. After retiring from the post office, Ken was a part time school bus driver for the Orion school system. He was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church, and the Orion Masonic Lodge for over 59 years. Ken was a volunteer fire man for the Orion fire district. He enjoyed dancing, golfing, playing cards and vacationing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step grandchild; brothers, Clayton & Twyller and sister, Carlene Van Overshelde.
