Kenneth “Kenny” Willis Witte, lovingly known as “Strongarm06,” passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 62, surrounded by family and loved ones.
A celebration of Kenny’s life will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday March 6, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow services and private family inurnment will take place at Moline Memorial Park at a later date where an upright marker will be erected in his memory.
Kenny was born on April 9, 1962, in Moline, Illinois, He was a man of great wisdom, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family. Kenny retired at the age of 60 after more than 20 years as a skilled bricklayer with Union Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 3 Iowa at Seedorff Masonry, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail built the world, we all get to see and enjoy, one brick at a time. Outside of work, he had a brilliant and analytical mind that never stopped. He found joy in fixing watches and had a deep fascination with the mysteries of the universe, often immersing himself in astronomy, space exploration, and all things cosmic. He loved riding his Harley, camping, fishing, and relaxing poolside.
On June 10, 2005, Kenny married the love of his life, Brenda Witte. From the moment they crossed paths, their bond was unbreakable built on love, and laughter. Above all else, Kenny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; children, Keri Witte, Andrew (Jessy) Witte and Andrew Grimes; he was a proud grandfather to Tyler, Haylee, Isabella, Genevieve, Everleigh Sue and Williem, each of whom will continue to carry a piece of his wisdom, strength and honor within their hearts. He is also survived by his mother, Sydney Nitzel Reiling; siblings, Suzanne Witte, Steven Witte, and Jennifer Witte; father-in-law, Vernon Evermon; stepsister, Julie (Bill) Tanner and a special cousin, Marshall Dawson that held a special place throughout his life. He was also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Upon Kenny’s passing he now joins his father, Kenneth William Witte; sons, Jeremy Witte and Brandon Witte, and grandson, Mason Witte; also his mother-in-law, Lois Evermon.
Kenny had a special bond with his grandchildren, a tradition called "The Hands," where everyone would make a circle and place their hands together as a symbol of family solidarity tradition that will be carried on in his honor.
Kenny’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
