Kenneth G. Shelton

Kenneth G. Shelton, age 81, of Moline, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born November 29, 1930 in Ottawa, IL, the son of Allan and Arista (Miller) Shelton. He married R. Eileen Yoder in June, 1954. They were later divorced in 1975.
Kenneth was a member of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union #25, retiring in 1988. He was a Union Steward, on the Executive Board, and was also a mentor to many. Kenneth was a graduate of Geneseo High School, where he was an all state center on the state championship football "Green Machine" team of 1949. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and playing cards.
