Kent O. Adams

Kent O. Adams, 70, of East Moline, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday September 13, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Per Kent’s wishes, he wanted to be cremated and have a private family graveside service. Memorials may be made to the family, a local food pantry or to the Silvis Garden Club. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Kent was born on February 20, 1954, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Clyde and Dorothy (Short) Adams, Jr. He married Wanda J. Strait on August 11, 1973, in Rock Island. He had been employed as a laborer at Frank Foundries, Moline, Deere & Co. Plow and Planter and various other companies. He was a member of the Silvis Garden Club. Kent was known for making delicious fudge for his family and friends every Christmas. He also was a lover of classic cars and enjoyed working on them.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; children, John (Yvonne Brolander) Adams, East Moline, Sally (Jes) Miskinis, Rock Island; grandchildren, Acein Miskinis, Katelyn (Kody) Kean, Kelsey (Daniel) Coblentz, Ethan Kenning, Logan Kenning; four great granddaughters; sister, Sheri Adams, Rock Island; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary.
