Kevin M. Kerschieter, 62, of Rapids City, IL, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at home.
The family will hold private services at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Rapids City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his family for a fund to be established.
Kevin was born on November 8, 1953, in Moline, IL, the son of Maurice and Elsie Staelens Kerschieter. He married Paula J. Steffen on October 25, 1975, in Dubuque, IA. He worked as a welder for Case New Holland. Intermittently, he worked in maintenance for the power plant.
Kevin was a member of East Moline UAW Local 1304, where he was a former union steward. He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in East Moline, where he also served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. Kevin especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, old war movies and the NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Paula; daughter, Amy (Daniel) Spicer, Silvis, IL; son, Clint (fiancé, April Williams) Kerschieter, Davenport, IA; 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Ava Spicer; mother, Elsie Kerschieter, Moline, IL; brothers, Kelley (Debbie) Kerschieter, Rapids City, IL, and Kerry (Ann) Kerschieter, Moline, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Steven.
