Kurtis "Kurt" W. Dicks

Kurtis “Kurt” W. Dicks, 72, of Moline, passed away February 23, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday February 27, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. The burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

Kurt was born on April 1, 1952, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Doren W. and Betty M. (Barta) Dicks. He married Lisa Peterson on September 20, 1986, at the former Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Moline. Kurt graduated from Davenport Central High School, class of 1970. He had been employed in auto parts sales at various General Motor car dealerships in the Quad Cities, last working at Lujack’s. He also worked as a representative for Primerica. Kurt was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He enjoyed attending the Quad City Air Show and EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. He was an avid World War II history buff and watched numerous WWII movies and television series. Kurt also enjoyed working on model airplane kits. 

Survivors include his wife, Lisa; sisters, Susan (Carlton) Wills, Davenport, Glory Caldwell, Iowa City; sister-in-law, Linnea (John) Mekus; nephews, Jeffrey Caldwell, Daniel Wills; nieces, Kristy (Brock) Dixon, Gina Mekus, Irene (Angel) Munoz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
