Lani L. Sheley

Lani L. Sheley, 78, of Moline, passed away January 17, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday January 23, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday January 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Control.

Lani was born October 20, 1946, in Ottumwa, Iowa the daughter of Kermit and Virginia (Robey) Albright. She married James Chance. She later married Michael Kennedy Sheley on August 3, 1973, in Moline. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2019. Lani was previously employed at the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office. She also worked at John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan. Lani had a great love for animals. She enjoyed reading, gardening and being with the many friends she made over her lifetime.

Survivors include her brother, Larry Albright, Davenport; stepchildren, Tiffany Sheley, Kelene (Andrew) Rousey; step grandson, Aidan Donahoe; many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Lynn Chance; infant son, Kenneth; husband, Mike; parents, Kermit & Virginia Albright; sister, Linda (Sam) Blum; and her two little poodles, Misty and Brandi.
