Lanore Elizabeth Williams, 97, formerly of Sherrard, IL, died Friday, September 6, 2013, in Huntsville, AL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at Community Presbyterian Church in Sherrard. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at Rural Township Cemetery at Buelah following the services.
Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church of Sherrard. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lanore was born on July 24, 1916, in Sherrard, IL, the daughter of Rudolph and Ara (Allely) Mueller. She married James W. Johnston and he preceded her in death in 1976. She later married David Williams, Jr., in June of 1977, in Milan, IL.
Lanore worked as the former Post Master of the Sherrard Post Office, retiring in June of 1977. She belonged to the Post Masters Association and was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Sherrard. Lanore enjoyed golfing at Mill Creek Country Club and was a Charter Member there. She also enjoyed fishing and quilting. Above all, Lanore loved spending time with her family, her nieces and nephews, and especially with her niece, Sharon Myers.
Survivors include her husband, David Williams, Jr.; nieces & nephews, Dennis Mueller and his wife, Linda, of Hopewell, NJ, and their sons, Luke (Diana) and Colby, Jamie Mueller and his wife, Diana, of Milan, IL, and their family, Sharon Myers and her husband, Chuck, of Huntsville, AL, and their daughters, Tiffany and Nichole (Jon), Mark Mueller and Dena Lindquist, of Orion, IL, and children, Travis, Tracey (TJ), and Molly; two great great nieces; three great great nephews; sister-in-law, Margie Mueller, of Sherrard, IL.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Mueller, and her niece, Trysh Mueller Farber.
