Larry E. Crawford, 57 of Moline died May 7, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 6th Ave. and 15th St. in East Moline. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
Larry was born April 23, 1947 in Brinkley, AR to Riley and Odessa (Weekly) Crawford.
He married Kathleen Pollard on June 26, 1966 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.
Larry's childhood and adolescence was spent in Galesburg, IL where he excelled in sports, particularly his love of the game of basketball. After his marriage and move to Moline he pursued his educational endeavor completing a Master of Science degree in the field of education.
Larry was employed at Black Hawk College for over 30 years as the Job Placement Officer in career services and more recently was an associate professor in addition to his placement responsibilites. He served on many committees, one of 25 yres being the Citizen Advisory Council on Urban Policy for the City of Moline.
Larry attended Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family.
