Larry L. Hultgren, 70, of Rock Island, IL, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport, IA.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no service. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Kidney Fund, or to Alleman High School.
Larry was born on August 1, 1943, in Moline, IL, the son of Maurice and Clara (Corey) Hultgren.
He married Carol S. Vyncke on March 8, 1969, in Moline, IL.
Larry had served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked as an assistant manager at Eagle's for 43 years. It was there that without any hesitation he saved a total stranger's life by performing CPR. For the past 8 years he has been a school bus driver for the East Moline School District.
Larry enjoyed learning so very much. At the age of 57, he went back to school at Black Hawk College and was placed on the Dean's List. Larry was a man of few words and when he spoke it was worth listening to. He always believed that actions spoke louder than words. Larry was fun to be around and was an all around good guy. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, sports, movies, science fiction, music and trivia. He also enjoyed all Chicago and Illinois sports, motorcycles and nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Maurice "Bob" Hultgren.
