Larry Eugene Layer

Larry Eugene Layer, age 66, of East Moline, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Trinity, Bettendorf.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with arrangements.
Larry was born January 2, 1944 in Pekin, IL, the son of Roy and Patricia (Schafer) Layer. He married Anita Marie Allspach on February 28, 1987 at Larson Funeral Home in Rock Island.
Larry was employed as a police officer and an independent truck driver for more than 40 years, retiring in 2006.
He flew Cesna 4 seater airplanes, and enjoyed riding snowmobiles and motorcycles. Larry liked to play the slots on the gambling boats. After retirement, he went white water rafting and took a train over the Rockies.
