Larry Walter Lenger, 65, of Milan, IL, died Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 312 West 1st Street, Milan. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. with a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal with military honors provided by Moline American Legion Post #246. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DAV.
Larry was born on November 7, 1948, in Moline, IL, the son of Elmer and Elma (Ray) Lenger. He married Audrey Kerr on June 26, 1971, in Muscatine, IA.
Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 - 1971 and later joined the Illinois National Guard. He worked various duties for John Deere Davenport Works. Larry was an avid bowler even having bowled a 300 game. Larry was a huge Price is Right fan, enjoyed going to the Legion, loved music, and was a city farmer. More than anything, Larry loved his time spent with his family and grandkids.
