Lawrence Eugene Brown, 64 of Rock Island died July 7, 2005 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
Larry was born July 14, 1940 in Moline to Lawrence and Nina Mee Brown. He married Barbara A. Masengarb on November 24, 1956 in Davenport, IA.
Larry was a fireman in the Air Force serving from 1958-1961.
Larry sold insurance for 30 years. He worked his way up and then fulfilled his dream of being his own boss. He owned B&B which was a rental business. He was quite the entrepreneur, he also owned his own Pizza Parlor (Jimbo's) in Cambridge, IL, Camdenton, MO and Eldon, MO.
Larry was a member of the Moose Club and the F.O.E. (Fraternal Order of Eagles). He was known for drawing maps whenever someone needed directions. He loved family outings, fishing and boating. He finally got his swimming pool, tiki bar and golf cart. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends. He also was an avid Cubs fan.
