Lawrence Thomas Crowe, 76 of Rock Island passed away February 7, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at National Cemtery, Rock Island with military rites conducted by American Legion Post # 246., Moline. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
Lawrence was born May 24, 1928 in Rock Island to Robert and Mary VanPelt Crowe. He married Sandra Reynolds on August 7, 1996 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2004.
Lawrence worked for the Arsenal as an electrician and later as a troubleshooter, which allowed him to address the Pentagon on several occasions. He retired in 1989 after 35 years. After retiring he was a private investigator.
Lawrence was a WWII Army veteran. He coached little league for 15 years. He covered home games for the RIHS sportspage in the Argus from 1966-1970. He also covered the World Softball tournaments in Douglas Park. He was a volunteer for the voting poles, and JD Classic, a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Post # 246 and also a census taker. He was extremely outgoing and will be greatly missed.

Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra and his parents.
