Lelbert Lee Thornburg Jr

Lelbert Lee "Junior" Thornburg, Jr. 83, of Moline, died January 8, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island.
Junior was born on April 30, 1925 in Green Shed., TN, the son of Lelbert and Zora White Thornburg. He married Joan Hensley on October 7, 1950 in Jonesborough, TN.
Junior worked as a foreman for 22 years at K.I. Willis retiring in 1990. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard.
Junior was an Associate Pastor at Word of Faith Tabernacle, Davenport. He enjoyed Blue Grass and Gospel music. He also enjoyed playing the Banjo and loved being with his family and friends.
