Dr. Leo L. Lundberg, 83, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by Moline American Legion Post # 246. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church in Aledo.

Leo was born on August 21, 1930, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Emil and Eulala (Davis) Lundberg. He married Barbara Ortman on December 19, 1954, in Moline, IL.

Leo graduated from Rock Island High School, Augustana College, and University of Illinois Dental School in Chicago. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Dental Corps. After the war, he returned to Moline and practiced two years in Moline before setting up a 39 year successful dental practice in Aledo, IL. He also served as President of the Rock Island County Dental Society. Leo and Barb raised three children all going to Aledo schools. After retirement they moved to Coal Valley and finally to Moline. He was active in city business and was named "Man of the Year" in the 1970's. Leo belonged to many organizations including Aledo city council and the Exchange Club. He was president of Oak View Country Club where he loved to play golf with his golfing buddies. Leo held numerous positions in the Aledo Methodist Church where he was a willing volunteer for 8 mission trips to Haiti, taking his children to accompany him at different times. It was a highlight of his life. He also loved traveling all over the United States and Mexico with his wife and taking fishing trips to Canada with friends. Above all, Leo cherished his time with his wife and family.
