Leonard V. Long

Leonard V. Long, 84, of Osco, IL, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the home of his sister, Lois.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 1 p.m., at Western Township Cemetery in Orion.  There will be no visitation.  Kirk, Huggins, and Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity or for Masses to be said in Leonard’s memory.

Leonard was born January 16, 1934 to Leo L. and Elsie H. Pobanz Long at home in Osco, IL. He began farming in the Osco area before the age of 21.  Leonard was proud to serve his country as an Army veteran and was a member of Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion.

Survivors are sisters; Lois Brokaw, Osco, Avis Cathcart, Moline, and Virginia (Joe) Ziegler, Rock Island, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom, and sister, Ellen Orlowski.
