Leonard J. Mahan, 61, of East Moline, IL died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Trinity in Rock Island, IL.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at The Apostolic Sanctuary, Silvis, IL. There will be a visitation from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family or to The American Cancer Society.
Leonard was born on July 15, 1950 to Jay Russell and Bertha Mae (Shipley) Mahan in Longmont, CO. He married Naomi Wing who preceded him in death in 1986. He later married Pauline Cooke on July 31, 1990 in Rock Island, IL.
Leonard is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and held various positions at Hill & Valley Premium Bakery in Rock Island. He was a member of The Apostolic Sanctuary and enjoyed reading the Bible and going to church. One would often find Leonard watching wrestling and cowboy movies, doing word searches or taking long walks singing and whistling. Leonard was a man who would do anything for anyone and what was most important to him was spending time with his family.
