Leroy C. Jarrard, age 77 of Moline died Monday, June 6, 2005 at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 3:00-5:00 prior to the service. Cremation will follow with a private family burial at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials will be accepted by his family for a fund to be established.
Leroy was born June 5, 1928 in Cleveland, GA. the son of Albert Thomas and Sarah Ethel Vandiver Jarrard. He married Edna Marie Freeman on August 23, 1950 in Dawsonville, GA. She preceded him in death.
Leroy attended the First Evangelical Free Church, Moline. He loved working with his hands and collecting guns, knives and musical instruments. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors especially the mountains of North Georgia.
Leroy was employed as a welder at Mc Laughlin Body for 33 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Army.
