Lester H. Thoensen

Lester Herb Thoensen, 61, of Rock Island died February 29, 2004 at his home.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his family or Victory Life Church, Moline where he was a member.
Lester was born July 3, 1942 in Davenport to Lester O. and Julia Ginneberge Thoensen.
He married Carolyn J. Ritchie on December 12, 1964 in Milan.
Lester was a meat cutter for 18 years working for Geifman's and Jewel Foods. In April of 2003 he retired from Metrolink as Operations Supervisor.
Lester served in the Army Reserves from March 18, 1961 to December of 1966 stationed in Ft. Leonardwood and Ft. Ord in California. He belonged to the former Meat Cutters Union # 431. He enjoyed camping, watching hockey and time spent with his family especially his grandchildren.
